South African Middle order Batsman Faf du Plessis is having a dream start to his Test Career. Having scored a 78 in the first innings of the Adelaide test to recover SA and then a sensational 110* to save the match for SA, which was turning on to be a big defeat for the Proteas after the score read 65/4.

SA won the toss and chose to bat in the 3rd test at W.A.C.A. Not one of the best starts for the team, the score read 67/5 when du Plessis came to bat in his 3rd test innings after having hit a fifty and a century in the first two. he single handedly rescued SA to a score of 200+ by scoring yet another half century. He scored an unbeaten 78 as proteas finish their first innings on 225.

This makes 3 50+ scores for du Plessis in his first 3 innings of his test career.
 (78,110*,78*)

Is this a record ? ?

Yes, after du Plessis hit his 3rd fifty in a row, he became only the 10th player to register scores of 50+ in first 3 innings of test career.
